Termination of appointment of Olademiji Adetujoye as a director on 1 April Our information is available for almost all UK postcodes. Alternatively, click here to view demographic information about OL1 as a whole. They are performed once every 10 years. Please note: census information may include figures for adjacent streets and postcodes. The figures are therefore representative of the local area, not a specific street address or row of houses.
The census collection is designed so that each group of postcodes should contain at least people 50 in Scotland. This is done to preserve the anonymity of the people in that area, as some postcodes cover a very small area, sometimes a single building.
You can see the area covered by the census statistics by clicking "Show Census Area Covered" below the map above. The information we provide on the website is done so without charge. However, if you wish to use this data on other websites, or in any other public medium should consult our data sources page for information on how you should correctly attribute the information.
We have found one property sale in Lower Mall since the beginning of Our data comes directly from the Land Registry, and is updated monthly. It does not include commercial sales, or sales of land without property.
The area containing Lower Mall, Spindles Shopping Centre, Oldham consists predominantly of flats, which is common in inner cities, student neighbourhoods and poorer suburban settings. Please note that the figures may include adjacent streets - see the Summary tab for an explanation and map of the area that these figures cover.

This data lists the total number of residents normally resident within each household. The figures do not record under- or over-occupancy. Social Grade approximations are derived from an algorithm created by the Market Research Society. The figures shown are per-household rather than individual - more specifically, the job title and employer of the "household reference person" is used, analogous to what traditionally was called the head of the household.
Only household reference persons between the ages of are included. This can be caused by a number of factors, but amongst the most common are: areas associated with nearby higher education, areas that contain large establishments such as boarding schools, and areas with younger populations females on average live longer than males, so are more likely to be found in retirement areas.
Across the UK as a whole, the median age is In general, inner city areas show high concentrations of people agedsuburbs show larger numbers of small children and adults agedand rural and small towns are more popular with older workers and retirees.
Many poorer areas lack a majority age group, which is due in part to the people in that area being constrained by circumstance rather than being able to choose where to retire, raise a family or grow up.
Areas with large single populations are often in built-up areas, with good entertainment facilities. It is also common to see a younger population in these areas. Figures for relationship status do not include those aged under 16, or those family members aged who are in full-time education. Health in the UK is strongly tied to age as you would expect, but the affluence of a neighbourhood also has strong influence, with deprived areas often showing poorer standards of health.
Overall, the UK considers itself to be healthy - The full breakdown is as follows for the United Kingdom: At the time of the census, across the UK The qualification levels are based on current qualification names. As a country with a diverse population, the UK is home to other sizable ethnic groups, with mixed ethnicity 2. There is considerable division of ethnicities within the UK, with ethnically diverse addresses uncommon outside of urban areas.
At the time of the census, approximately The Changing Face of shopping, high streets and shops dissapeared Over the last 40 yrs the changes we have seen to our high streets and local shops have been as drastic as any in technology. When I was young most of the shopping was done in traditional shops including the local Butchers, Bakers, Grocers and Newsagents.
Over the years as supermarkets appeared some of those traditional shops closed down and small corner shops selling many of the same things started to appear, often staying open much later than the new supermarkets. As the supermarkets stayed open for longer and longer hours even many of the small corner shops disappeared.Beauvais airport to charles de gaulle
As the supermarkets Hyper markets have grown larger and more have appeared other areas of shopping which have been affected include Clothing, Hardware, Car Spares and many other areas. We have created this section hoping to get memories from those who ran and those who shopped at the traditional Butchers, Bakers and greengrocers and your views on what we have lost due to these changes. As consumers we have gained through better prices often more consistent quality and often better choice but are we really better off.
Growth in Number and Diversity of Supermarkets The growth of the supermarket has been the success story in our times, when they first appeared some specialised in fruit, vegetables and food items and others went for the opposite way with non food as the core of the business, but slowly they have converged and built bigger and bigger out of town stores and now sell anything from paint to toys to a mouse for your computer to fresh bananas.
As they have grown a few very powerful forces in supermarket retailing dominate the market in each country. USA Walmart in the US has become the countries 2nd largest employer selling any and every thing in massive super stores and have caused many small specialist retailers to close as they can not compete with pricing, and Walmart has also expanded into other countries sometimes buying existing supermarket chains and expanding them.
Category:Shopping centres in the United Kingdom
Many consumers do complain about the loss of local specialist stores in their towns but are often the same people who shop at Walmart.
Canada In Canada the dominant supermarket chain is Loblaw Companies Limited but due to its trading under some 15 different brand names with stores most people think that Metro is the largest with some plus supermarkets. Australia and New Zealand Woolworths Limited is the largest supermarket chain in Australia and New Zealand trading under it's own name and other trading names and is the largest food retailer in Australia and New Zealand.
As supermarkets and hyper markets become bigger and attack other areas of retailing i. Department Stores History The concept of a department store goes back in history to late 's but has evolved and changed as has the rest of the shops. Originally most of the department stores were independent and owned locally in the city they traded.
This has been the biggest change in the last 50 years where now a single company may own 20 brands trading in City centres and out of town Malls. Department stores are identified by the fact they sell a wide range of products including clothing, furniture, appliances, toiletries, cosmetics, jewelry, toys, and sporting goods.
In some areas as changes have evolved the distinction between a department store and a supermarket has been eroded a good example of this would be Walmart who originally were considered a discount department store but now could be called Department Store, Supermarket, Hyper market or a discount department store as Walmart has moved into food and grocery and have built new superstores that are large enough to sell the traditional products they started with together with a full range of foods and grocery's.
As another example Marks and Spencers in the UK has added large food courts and furniture sales as part of their newer and larger stores so the distinction between supermarket and department store continues to become harder to identify. Transport across the Greater Manchester conurbation historically suffered from poor north—south connections due to the fact that Manchester's main railway stations, Piccadilly and Victoria were built in the s on peripheral locations outside Manchester city centre. In the s and s, the public transport authority SELNEC evaluated a number of proposals to connect Manchester's northern and southern rail terminals, including several types of monorail systems and metro-style systems. Passengers were charged a flat fare of 2p for each journey.
Centreline continued to provide inter-station transit links for several years. After bus deregulationthe service was operated by GM Buses. Inthe new Metrolink light rail system began operating across Manchester city centre, providing an electric tram link between the mainline stations, although Centreline continued to operate. Inthe Centreline name disappeared from Manchester streets as the service was rebranded as Metroshuttle.
Two routes were introduced, numbered 1 and 2. The service was extremely successful. Route 3 was introduced in September and links additional areas of the city centre. From 28 Octoberdue to declining passenger numbers, the service was reduced to 2 routes, and rebranded as free bus.
Allied London own the Spinningfields mixed-use development and all three routes serve this site. The service is also partially supported by advertising. First Greater Manchester provides a publicity contribution. The Manchester Metroshuttle network consists of three services, each operated by First Greater Manchester.
The services were originally operated using a dedicated fleet of 18 Optare Solo minibuses with route branding applied for all services, Route 1 orangeRoute 2 greenRoute 3 purple. Some Solos carried a generic livery, consisting of silver-grey in place of the route colours allowing them to be used on any route.
In November20 electric hybrids Optare Versas replaced the Solos. Metroshuttle route 1 and route 2 began operating in September and replaced the previous Centreline city centre operation. Allied London own the Spinningfields mixed-use development that is served by the route. These are the routes as of January Operator: First Greater Manchester Times: — Monday—Friday, every 10 minutes — Saturday, every 10 minutes — Sunday and public holidays, every 12 minutes.
