Thread starter TurtleDude Start date Apr 16, DP Veteran. The Request for bids required that the pistol be modular in design, striker fired, etc. Today was the first day that the Beretta APX was supposed to be available many shops got the pistols in a couple days ago and so this week was the actual release date. I obtained one in the last day or so and I have a C as well.
It appears that the pivoting center lever is slightly longer. The beretta feels really god in my hands, my wife, with smaller hands, found it slightly too large we did not change out the backstraps-a couple came with the pistol The Beretta is noticeably top heavy with the weight fairly high above your hand.
As my wife correctly noted, that accentuates the recoil impulse level. The sights are high contrast sights-easy to line up. The weapon holds 17 rounds and one of its benefits is that factory magazines list at 29 dollars a piece and if you buy straight from Beretta, they reduce the price to 26 dollars if you buy two or more.It is no secret that accurately shooting a handgun is more difficult than with a rifle or shotgun.
Traditional pistol sights require you to shift focus from the threat to the sights. Then you have to align the sights and maintain the elusive front-sight focus so integral to accurate handgun shooting. In recent years, red dots and laser sights have become more popular with handgun shooters because each provides a distinct advantage over traditional pistol sights.
Whether the dot appearing on your target is emanating from a holographic red-dot sight RDS or a laser beam, the aiming process is simplified by eliminating the need to shift your focus from the threat to the front and rear sights.
Overlaying the dot on the target shows precisely where your muzzle is pointed. Nothing is more intuitive. However, despite their similarities, there are some distinct differences between red dots and lasers. Besides having manually adjusted brightness settings, some sights auto-adjust the brightness of the dot based on lighting conditions. While having the brightest dot possible usually makes the most sense, dimming the dot can make it appear smaller and sharper.
This creates a more refined sight picture for enhanced accuracy. Always On — Unlike most lights and lasers, a RDS does not need to be manually activated after drawing your gun. While something as mundane as hitting a button can seem like a gimme under normal conditions, the action can be surprisingly difficult when a person is under duress.
Some red dots are even available with different reticles, although a round dot is by far the most popular. No Trace — RDSs are not only easy for you to see, but they are also invisible to everyone else. Holster Fit — Since a RDS is mounted to the slide as opposed to the rail or your pistol, many holsters designed for handguns with traditional sights will work with a red-dot-equipped pistol.
However, when you add suppressor-height backup sights, you may run into problems. Most shooters who are familiar with traditional pistol sights will be considerably slower aiming with a red dot. Mounting — Unlike a rail-mounted accessory, a RDS will require a slide cut either from the factory or aftermarket or a mount designed to attach to the rear sight dovetail. Attach and Go — Most lasers are rail mounted. Unconventional Aiming — With traditional pistol sights and red dots, your head needs to be behind the gun to aim.
You can shoot from compromised positions where you may not be able to bring your gun to eye level. You could also shoot from behind cover without needlessly exposing yourself to incoming fire. Training Tool — In addition to the benefits a laser can afford you during a self-defense scenario, a laser is also a valuable training tool.Forums New posts Search forums.

Thread starter shipwreck Start date Jun 13, Mar 17, 1, 63 Beretta City,Texas. I ordered this on Saturday - it arrived yesterday I hope to shoot it soon. But, I like it a lot so far.
I will say that it feels great in the hand with the medium backstrap that already comes on it. I have smaller hands, and I like that my hand sits closer to the trigger than it does on many other handguns.

Beretta APX Centurion
TxStetson said:. Nov 27, 1, 63 cypress, tx. I love mine, even more than the full size. Dec 2, 1, 63 Katy, TX. I had a compact for a while. I think the APX is prett solid. I really like the grip frame ergonomics and texture. I just did not need another striker gun and so it was traded off. I do have a nice beretta APX holster I never used for it though if anyone wants it!? Need shipping funds? You must log in or register to reply here. I really like the ergonomics and trigger, and my APX has never hiccuped. When I fired the fourth round, at a pace of one round per second, the chambered case ruptured at the base, leaking high-pressure gas into the receiver. Like all modern pistols, the Beretta APX is designed to protect the shooter when something like this happens which does occasionally, with all pistols.
Leaking gas is channeled into the magazine well, which usually results in the magazine itself projectile-ejecting. In my case, the magazine body stayed inside the pistol while the follower, remaining rounds, spring, and base-plate all jettisoned out the bottom. The extractor blew off the pistol.
This is also very typical, and by design. The bullet squirted out the muzzle and went downrange. Frame, slide, and barrel were all undamaged. I ended-up with a few smudge-marks on my hands, but no injury. I borrowed another pistol, and our Course continued, none the worse for ware. It was returned to me ten days later, repaired, inspected, and test-fired.Skam norway full cast
Damaged magazine was replaced. No charge, and Beretta covered shipping, both ways. All feature polymer frames and are striker-fired. All feature variable grip-geometry. Most do not have a manual safety.
None have a decocking-lever, nor button. And particularly with pistols chambered for 9mm, significant damage to the pistol itself, as well as injury to the shooter, are both unlikely. In over fifty years of shooting and teaching, this is my second. Neither resulted in personal injury, nor significant damage to the pistol. Both were with factory ammunition. They just quietly fixed my pistol and sent me on my way, a happy customer.

Sent my APX back for service after having an issue changing frames. Received it back in six days with no cost to me.A few years back, Beretta broke with tradition to create its first full-sized striker-fired pistol.
The Italian gunmaker had good reason to turn its attention to the dominant firing system of modern handguns with the creation of the APX — the U. The polymer-framed semi-automatic was an entry in the U. Despite finishing in the field, the APX has still been a winner for Beretta. The well-thought-out pistol has curried favor in the civilian market and is likely to continue capturing hearts and minds with the introduction of two new models — the APX Compact and APX Centurion.
And while the APX Compact and Centurion appear to be dead ringers for each other, they have a notable and important difference in both height and capacity. With a flush-fit magazine, the 4. On the other hand, the 5. These facets are certain to play a role in many shooter's decision-making process, particularly those whose carry profile demands the utmost concealment considerations. The new pistols both boast the features that made the APX popular in the first place, including aggressive cocking serrations across the length of the slide, 6-pound trigger with tactile and audible reset, removable serialize chassis grip-frame housing is replaceableambidextrous slide catch and reversible mag release.

Well, the future is now, and we do indeed have that micro-9 sized Beretta APX that is everything its larger sibling is, in a very tiny package.
This is a pocket-sized 9mm, well suited for deep concealment. At just over a pound, and less than six inches long, it not only fits into your front pocket — it fits there comfortably. The other key dimension is the width — or perhaps the lack thereof.
The APX Carry is just 0. And while the firearms industry has made amazing strides in the ability to design higher capacity pistols that are miraculously small, there is a place for the stable and time proven single-stack 9mm.

Beretta is not new to this concept, nor is it new to offering such a gun to its customers. The Beretta Nano, if you recall, is a micro-9 that was not only extremely small, but came to market with a snag-free design that eliminated almost all external controls, such as slide stop and takedown lever. The APX Carry is almost identical in its footprint to its predecessor the Nano — but the ergonomics have changed a bit, some user controls have been added back and some have notand it has been ruggedized.
In most every other way, the two pistols are identical. So much so, that the magazines are interchangeable. Beretta did hold its ground on keeping some controls from becoming bumps and levers on the outside of the gun.
It has no external manual safety — using internal safeties, trigger safety, and length of trigger pull for that. It is also absent a takedown lever — just as the Nano is. The takedown is accomplished by rotating the slide lock pin using the notch on the right side of the pistol.
In a pinch, you can use the rim of a cartridge, but I discovered it is perfectly sized for the edge of a nickel. Field strip is simple and contains no surprises. The barrel and recoil spring assembly are easily removed and re-installed for cleaning. At least a few times every year, I have a need for a deep concealment handgun. Something smaller than usual, and carried in some alternate way — in other words, no Kydex IWB holster, maybe not even a pocket holster.
When I go for deep concealment — I almost always select a single-stack 9mm. This is mainly for its thinness, although length and height are also very important. The APX Carry is a perfect candidate for such purpose. The ergonomics of the APX have not been lost or diluted with the Carry model. Beretta has increased the front-to-back measurement of the grip to make the pistol a better fit for average to large hands.
This protects the magazine, aids in reloads helps guide the magazine in like a shoehornand also adds height and increases the amount of hand-to-gun contact for a sturdy grasp. Helping maintain that grip is the aggressive texture which includes tiny pyramids on the front and back straps to keep the pistol planted during recoil. Having some travel on a self-defense firearm is not a bad thing — not at all. And it is that — very smooth. It was probably one of the most stress-free trips we've ever taken.
I received good practical information, hotel was very nice, friendly people, excellent food. We loved the hotels accommodation especially the Icelandic farmhouses. We also appreciate that Erla called us to let us know about the alternate route (Route 208) after the bridge on Route 1 after Vik was washed away in the glacial flood. We enjoyed our visit and your customized itinerary helped us see the highlights of your beautiful country.
This was our first visit to Iceland.Tolc s date 2020
We hope to return again sometime. As an ex travel agent I really appreciated your way of work, all the information we received before (as well as vouchers to check, etc.
The travel documents were excellent, with good maps and very helpful stickers and highlights. We chose Nordic Visitor because they are local travel specialists, and they even replied to our emails on Easter holiday. We chose Nordic Visitor because of the excellent range of activities offered.
The itinerary was really well thought out and planned, and the tour allowed us to experience the best Norway has to offer. It was a very nice trip with Nordic Visitor, and a wonderful experience. I was very happy with your services, I was picked up at the airport, and we drove to Kiruna, and went through the program of my tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the trip. It was easy and stress free and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for everything - it was well organised. The mobile phone was great. Thank you - it was a fantastic holiday!!. The trip was great.Beretta 92A1 vs PX4 Storm vs APX
We took more than 2500 pics, we drove more than 3300 Km. We met many friends on the way - most of them "Nordic people". The service provided and information received before the tour was excellent. The standard of accommodation was excellent, for me the best experience was sleeping in the national park, however every single hotel was wonderful. We had the best guide-driver we could dream of. For us he was more than a guide. I have a deep respect and admiration for Asgeir who helped us to discover, understand and fall in love with this beautiful country.
He adapted himself so kindly to our needs and tantrums. My daughter keeps talking about him. I do not exaggerate when I say he is her hero. Now everyone knows him in France and in England. I was not expecting such high quality standard of meals. My favorite was a meal at the last restaurant where every single dish was a delight (Hotel Ranga). It was definitively the best restaurant along with the sea food bar in Reykjavik.
